Tim's Leg

Friday, September 2nd, was a huge day for Tim! He was able to take his leg home! He also got some fore-arm crutches that should make getting around easier! Take a look at the big day!

(Testing out the leg-again)

(Peter making some adjustments to Tim's leg. After this shot, Peter took us in the back and we got a tour of where Tim's leg was made. Science and Art together make a prosthesis! It is amazing!!)

(We went upstairs to Physical Therapy where Tim was fitted to some forearm crutches! We also set up an appointment for some P.T.)

After our time at Shriner's, Cory and Tim went home while the girls, my Mom and I headed north for a Girl's Road Trip. (More to come on our quick trip to Idaho Falls!) Meanwhile, Cory and Tim were invited to a special football practice where Tim was presented a jersey, with his name on the back, from the team that is coached by the guy who coached Tim last year!

(Tim and Cory on the football field again. Notice the "Y" pattern on Tim's prosthesis!)

(Where's Tim amid the football team?)

(Tim in a 3-point stance! Looks pretty good if you ask me)

Tim's kept pretty busy since Friday afternoon. He went to a couple football games Saturday to support coaches and friends:) Today, he walked around the neighborhood with Cory gathering fast offerings for our ward. And at church, he passed the sacrament using just one of his forearm crutches! Tim has a lot of work ahead of him in the way of p.t. He has not used his left leg in 4 months, so there is no muscle there at all. And, he still needs to get some range of motion in his rotated ankle. Tim is a fighter, and before you know it, you will be reading about Tim walking without help and even running!!
