Sunday Drive

This past Sunday, we went for a drive up Butterfield Canyon which is practically in our backyard. Usually on Conference Sunday, we head up one of the Cottonwood Canyons and make a day of it. This Sunday was different though. We were all tired from the busy week, the truck was low on gas, and we didn't want to be too far from home in case Tim had had enough! Butterfield Canyon did not disappoint!

(Heading up the Canyon)

(Almost to the top!)

At the top, you have to make a choice-turn around and go back the way you came, continue on down to Tooele, or turn and go up even more. Of course, we turned and went even further up on the very bumpy and dusty dirt road. But the view at the top was amazing!

This is Bingham Copper Mine that you don't see from the visitor center! Clear on the other side of the mine is the actual visitor center. We love going up here and looking at all the activity. Believe it or not, it was busy in the mine with tractors digging and dump trucks being loaded up and driving away. From this place, you can see all of the Salt Lake Valley, the Great Salt Lake, some of Davis county, and even some of Utah County!
