Tim is officially in "remission" as of this afternoon. Tim and I spent the day at Primary's getting tests, scans and meeting with doctors. We started the morning off by meeting with his surgeon. He watched Tim walk and took a look at the rotated foot. He said all looked well! Then Tim had a chest CT, x-rays taken and was injected with radiation medicine for a bone scan. Then it was off to get an echocardiogram of Tim's heart. We stopped by the lab so Tim could leave some pee and blood with the hospital, then the bone scan was performed. Whew, what a morning! After a break for some lunch, we met with the oncologist. She looked over all the results and Tim is cancer free!!! His port has to stay in a little while longer until his counts come up high enough for surgery to remove the port. That should take just a couple of weeks! So hopefully by mid-November, Tim will have the port out:)

So what now? Every 3 months for the next 2 years, Tim will have to have to have tests and scans taken. The cancer has the highest chance of coming back during these two years, especially in Tim's chest. Then between 2-5 years, Tim will go in every 6 months. From 5-10 years, Tim will have tests every year. We have a long road ahead of us, but for now, we are all jumping for joy that Tim is cancer free and on his way back to an active, healthy life!!
