Saturday, the six of us and my Mom participated in Salt Lake's first CureSearch Walk. You can read more about CureSearch
here. The event was held at Liberty Park Saturday morning. We were not the biggest team there by any means, but since cancer is apart of our lives now, we decided to go and show our support. We walked around the park-which turned out to be a longer walk than I thought. Thank goodness Tim was in his wheelchair and not on his crutches.

(Here we come in our yellow "No Fear Here" shirts along with the other 1400 walkers!)
My favorite part of the the walk, well actually, there was three things that I really enjoyed. One was the food and lots of it! Second, was the releasing of white balloons for those who have lost the battle to cancer. A dear friend of ours was there and released a balloon in honor of her son who recently passed away. It was so good to see her and see her strength. You can read about her son
here. The third thing that I liked was seeing all the survivors and those battling cancer up on the stage with huge smiles on their faces! Each child introduced themselves, then they were given a medal.

(Here's Tim introducing himself.)

(Tim with his medal on! His oncologist, Dr. Wright-in the blue shirt, gave him the medal.)

After all the kids introduced themselves and got their medals, they all gathered around a banner that they had signed. Then the walk started with the banner leading the walk.

After the walk, we went to Joe's Crab Shack. Tim ate an adult snow crab bucket! His smile makes all this worth it!

I just read some of the posts by your friends who lost her son to cancer. My heart breaks for her and her family.
I am so grateful that Tim is doing so well and hope his body continues to be amazingly strong. I never realized how much of a cancer "community" there is. It's impressive! Oh, and Tim's smile is FANTASTIC!
