Round 3

Yesterday, Tim was able to go in for chemo treatments! All of his counts were high enough, and there was room for him at PCMC. So, we left the house around 10am for the hospital. After checking in and finding our room, Tim ordered some lunch while the nurses took his vitals and accessed his port. I was lucky enough to put on a mask and help with the task. No, I didn't stick him, but I did get to spray the numbing stuff on him. I was a little nervous. What if I didn't get enough on or on the right spot? I guess I did a good job because Tim didn't scream out in pain as the nurse put the needle in him :) Fluids were started through the port and Tim ate lunch while I visited with a friend. After awhile, Tim wanted to walk and around and see the unit were he stays. So, we put on his BYU slippers and took a little walk. We even went down to the third floor to the playroom. Both Tim and I ended up playing the one and only Wii in the hospital for awhile. Everything else in the playroom was geared towards younger kids. No matter, Tim really liked getting out of room for awhile. We were paged back up the fourth floor to start some anti-nausea pills before the chemo. Tim ended up playing a game on the Play Station in the room. Around 5:30, chemo was started. Tim did well and was in good spirits until he threw up around 3 this morning. I guess we just need to count on him throwing up every time he goes in , no matter how much anti-nausea drugs he has in him :) His next chemo is scheduled for March 15th, if everything goes well!!
Check out Tim's ever-growing homework pile!
