BT - Today, Tim had his first of many
Blood Transfusions. Tim's total red blood cell count was low after a blood draw Tuesday night. So, this morning, we left the house early for PCMC. Tim's port was accessed and some blood was drawn. With this blood, the lab seperated his plasma out and matched it with blood from a donor. This took about 2 hours to do because the lab wanted the best match possible. So, Tim and I hung out in the cafeteria and chatted with a friend. Around 12:30, the blood transfusion took place. Tim enjoyed watching the blood slowly make its way through the tube and into his body. Tim and I sat in the clinic for about 3 hours while two bags of blood slowly dripped into his frail body. But it was so worth it. After, there was color to his cheeks and he had so much energy-enough to do about 3 pages of school work! If all goes well, Tim will go in next Tuesday for another round of chemo.
HL - Tonight, we had some fun as a family on behalf of Tim. After dinner, we decided to help Tim with his
Hair Loss problem. First we tried sucking up Tim's loose hair with a small vacuum. That didn't work - not enough suction!

So, then we put masking tape all over Tim's head!

All of us took a turn pulling strips of tape off Tim's head! Even Tim pulled some off :)

And presto, it worked! This picture looks like Tim's scalp, but it is actually the "tape helmet" we made with hair on it!!

And this is what Tim looks like now. He still has quite a bit of hair to loose though, especially in the back. He is the cutest baldy I know:)

Great! No bueno on the vacum, but great for the tape! He is such a cutie, I would agree. It was such a pleasure for me to get to really meet him today (I hope he remembers this time:) ), and to listen to all he has to say! Great seeing you both today! I am happy that you are all able to be home! See you soon....maybe...probably. Ok, for sure.
He's cute no matter what!
His face in the last picture cracks me right up! I'm glad the transfusion went well...and SO glad you guys are able to have a little fun with the not so fun things. You guys are always on my mind and in my prayers.
I agree with Carle! We think about you guys often and you are always in our prayers. Also glad you guys know how to have fun, that totally made me smile.
We love to see the updates. You do a great job Amanda of finding the fun and keeping it together. Thank you for the wristbands. We love the opportunity to show our support even though we are so far away. We are proud of Tim and the whole family! We love you.
