Garage Update

It has been awhile since my last post. Sorry about that. We have had family in town and then Cory and I went out of town for a couple of days. Also, I have been busy with back-to-school things. What a crazy summer! The older kids go back to school next week. In another post, I will let you see all the fun things that have taken place since our trip to Montana. But for now, the garage. Our neighbor finally finished digging. The kids loved playing in the trenches. Take a look. This is Tim and his friend, Luc, standing in the trench. And here is Kelli and Katie in the trench. The kids played for hours in the dirt one day. They had ladders going down into it and bridges across it. Forget about the swing sets and other backyard toys, just dig my kids a hole! This past Monday, the footings were framed up and the cement was poured. It was so hot that the footings were dry the same afternoon.
Tuesday morning, the foundation guys came, framed, and poured cement. This is what the foundation looks like with the frames gone and the cement dry. The last two nights, Gary has been coming over and back filling the trenches around the foundation. The dirt pile in the backyard is slowly going away. I am guessing that by this time next week, most of the framing will be done, if not all of it and the garage floor will be poured. My favorite saying through this crazy summer has been, "Good times at the Wrights!" Amen!!
