We had a very busy weekend. With the weekend being in between Mak's and Tim's birthdays, my Dad and younger brother came over from the Reno area. This is Uncle Justin (Bustin) with Kelli. (Kelli just adores her Uncle Bustin!) The kids love it when Uncle Bustin comes around. He is so much fun, and does crazy things, like jump his motorcycle over them. (See May of 2009)

Uncle Bustin is also perfect to wrestle with. Here he is taking care of both Mak and Tim. Just after this picture was taken, Tim decided to tackle Justin. Justin turned his head at the wrong time, and got Tim's knee to the eye! Justin just shook his head, sat for a minute and continued being tackled! What a guy!

We went to Joe's Crab Shack one night for the kids' birthdays. They got to dress up funky and hoola hoop while the employees sang to them. Surprisingly, they both enjoyed it:)

Tim and Mak got some gifts as well. Tim got a new 22 rifle. He loves to go shooting and "destroy" things. Mak got a much needed bike. I think Tim and Mak were both happy with the gifts!

Friday, Saturday, and part of Sunday were spent near Delta, Utah. We took the new camper out and the boys did some deseret racing. This is my Dad with Katie and Kelli Friday night. It was so cold, thus the winter parkas and gloves. It was super muddy there from all the rain we received all day Friday. We almost got stuck in that water/mud hole you see in the background. That would not have been good to have both the truck and trailer stuck in the middle of pit row!

Saturday was race day! Tim's race was at 8:30 in the morning. Tim rode 3 laps, each lap was about 10 miles. Here he is crossing the finish line. He ended up 3rd in his class. Not too bad!

Cory and Justin's race started at 12pm. Actually it was closer to 12:30, but who's keeping track. Their race was a 18 mile loop. Both Cory and Justin got in 4 loops, the over-all winner got in 5 loops. The start was insane. Each division lined up at the top of this hill, and took off down the hill, about 40 feet down, and out through a sage brush filled area.

After riding about a mile through 6 feet tall sage brush, the riders went up a steep hill and out onto the course. The kids, my dad and I sat up on a cliff about in the middle of this valley to watch the start. The riders looked like little ants making their way through grass. It was quite a site to watch!

Here is a link to Cory's start. It's crazy!
www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ummqy7Fxe8&feature=relatedJust before the end of the loop, the riders had to go through an endurance section. The riders went over logs, river rocks, up and over tires (Cory is going over the tires below) and through boulders. No thank you:)

The day was a long one! But we all had a good time, and got some sun too. Cory ended up taking 5th place in the amateur division, and Justin took 3rd in the novice division. We all slept very well that night. Here's the guys chilling after eating BBQ chicken and beans for dinner. The trailer smelled good that night:)

The girls had a lot of fun as well. Mak rode around on a small quad most of the day. She is quite the rider! K&K played in the sand. They made sand castles, dug holes and slid down sand "waterfalls." This is Katie after going down a "waterfall." The girls' blue jeans were turned into white jeans from the sand. I'm still doing laundry from the trip!

It was a GREAT weekend. Thanks Dad and Uncle Bustin for coming over and putting up with us! We love you and can't wait to see you again!
