Tim gets better each day! He was awake for most of the day, taking a nap in the afternoon. He ate a couple of crackers and took a few bites of a cookie. He had a few sips of a smoothie and blue "Mountain Dew." The only pain medicine he is getting is when he pushes his button. No more continuous drip! Tim went off oxygen for a little while this afternoon as well. But he got agitated with how uncomfortable his foot was and had to go back on the oxygen. Tim's foot is still swollen from the trauma of the surgery, but he is slowly getting some feeling back! We are also dealing with some sores on the right side of his body:( He got these from laying on that side of his body for 11 hours during surgery. In the way of physical therapy, Tim sat up in bed early this morning. Then, around 12, he stood up with the crutches and hobbled twice to a chair and sat there for about half an hour! Baby steps!!

(Check out Tim sitting up!)
Tim has quite the collection of friends that keep him occupied. I made the mistake of not putting them back on the bed after his sheets were changed. He was a little annoyed with me, but I know it's just the meds talking:)

(Tim's friends. When I left the hospital for the night, he added two more to this group!)
So, the thing that was the most frustrating for Tim today was getting his left leg comfortable. He spent most of the day moving pillows and rearranging his body. But when he did finally get comfortable, he either fell asleep, ate, or watched tv with me.

(Tim comfortable=killer smile!)

I've been thinking of you guys so often in recent weeks and praying for Tim and your family. It's fabulous to hear the surgery went well and Tim is on the road to recovery. I love his "collection of friends."
How nice to see a little smile. :)
He looks great! Congrats on the crackers and getting out of bed--that is big! I would love to have Steven come and see him. You can email me and I can get your contact info: sonjablodgett@gmail.com We think of you often and hope he feels better and better every day. Go Tim!
So glad to hear that the recovery is going well. He looks great! I can't wait to see Ed Yeates story in a few weeks.
Oh Amanda! Thank you for keeping us all updated. As if you don't have anything else on your plate. He is so amazing. I just want to squish him right now! Thank you for the pictures too. It absolutely blows my mind that they could do this type of a surgery! Can't wait to see him, and all of you! GO TIM!!!
I've been following your story for a while. I amazed at the strength of Tim and your family. I see the Build-a-Bear there in the picture and i do believe it is one we dropped off On Kristen's Birthday. She would have been 25 last Tuesday so we delivered 25 bears to the ICS unit. We are always excited to know that the bears were delivered to the cancer kids.
Tim is awesome!
