Early 14th Anniversary!

This past weekend, Cory and I got away for an early "anniversary getaway!" By the time our anniversary comes around at the end of August, we will be knee deep in volleyball, school and Tim's football. We swapped a day's boat rental for a day on a Harley. Check Cory out on this bad boy!
We started our "adventure" by driving up the Alpine Loop. So beautiful and what a different view from the back of a motorcycle. At the top we stopped to stretch and give our back sides a little rest. This is me at the top sitting in a field of pink flowers.
Then we drove to Midway and spent the night at the Johnson Mill Inn. Check them out! Such a beautiful place and the staff is super friendly! I highly recommend trying this place out! The price includes a super comfy room and a great breakfast in the morning. We ate outside on a deck overlooking a tranquil pond! The Bed and Breakfast was a flour mill at one time, then a home and now the Inn. Do you remember the basketball coach/Troy's father in the High School Musical movies? His parents own the mill and he grew up in the main house and helped built a lot of the structures on the property! There are even pictures of him as a child working and he got married there as well. The Mill has a really cool history. Here is Cory and I before our ride up the Mirror Lake Highway!
I have lived in Utah now for 20 plus years, give or take a couple years living out of state, and I have never been on the Mirror Lake Highway until this year. In June, we went camping up there. Cory and I went all the way to the top and then some on this day. WOW! It is so beautiful! One of Utah's many jems! Check it out!
We went home via the Alpine Loop. The cool mountain air felt great compared to the heat of the valleys we drove through. It was a fun weekend even though Cory and I both ended up with sunburned arms and faces. We now sport huge farmer tans on our arms and necks and for awhile had raccoon eyes from our sunglasses! Our bums were a little sore too:) But, it was well worth it!

What a great trip! It's so nice to get away together every once in a while.
