On Friday, Cory, my Mom and I took all the kids to the Draper Temple open house! Wow!! First of all, the open house is so organized; that is no shock with the church! You are assigned to a meeting house elsewhere in Draper to go to first. There, a short film about temples is shown. Then you are bussed, yep, bussed up to the temple. The bus drops you off on the grounds and thus the tour begins. You are led into a covered walkway that takes you into the temple. The tour is silent. A pamphlet is given out with info on all the different rooms that you go through. After the temple, you are led to a nearby church for refreshments and to ask missionaries any questions that you might have. When you are ready, you are bussed back to the meeting house you were assigned to. We were there for about 2 hours. This temple is amazing! We learned that the outside stone is from China. The inside stone is from France. All the interior wood is from Africa. And the beautiful crystal chandeliers are from the Czech Republic. The church spares at nothing! I tried to ask the kids what they thought about the temple. Instead of answers, I got blank stares. Oh well. Hopefully they felt the spirit, it was so strong! The open house goes through March 14. If any one is interested, just go to lds.org and click on the Draper Temple link. It is so worth the time! Sorry about the pictures. The are scanned from the pamphlet.
