Surprise Birthday!

I had the opportunity recently to fly to Reno and surprise my Dad for his birthday!  I wish I had my camera when I walked through the door and made him go speechless!.  See, I texted him earlier in the day the following:  Happy Birthday!  Busy getting ready for church.  Will talk to you later:)  I didn't lie, just didn't tell the whole truth.  I was busy getting the kids ready for church and I would talk to him later-in person!  It was great-totally unexpected.  My sister and her husband had a bbq in their backyard-ribs, fresh salad and a peach cobbler.  It was so yummy!  The next day, I spent most of the day with my Dad.  My sister got my Dad's boss to give him the day off.  Another unexpected surprise!  We had lunch, then drove around the Reno area, checking out the numerous houses that I lived in before moving to Utah.  And that night, we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  Great couple of days, but good to be back home with the kids and hubby!

House in Reno that I lived in until I was in 3rd grade
I lived in this house until I moved to Utah before the 8th grade.  It was not the ugly mint color you see.

This is the lot next to the house in the above picture.  When we lived there, we would ride our 3-wheelers through the sage brush until it was too dark to see or too cold to hang on any longer.  Now, it is a seperate lot with a modular home on it :(

My nephew, Jaxson, and I at dinner.  Such a cutie with big, blue eyes and blond hair!

Me, my Dad, Jaxson, and my sister, Jessica!
